I had a few people ask me to create a tutorial on storyboards. In this tutorial I will show you how to place a picture on to a storyboard by using one of my storyboards.
Start by bringing the the storyboard in to photo shop. As you can see there are several layers in the layer palate.
Highlight one of the layers (Depending on where you want to place your picture) that says "Place picture here". Once that is highlighted, click on the File tab and then click on "Place".
Find the the file that has the picture you want to use and click "Place". The picture will appear underneath the frame.
Before moving and stretching the picture click the little icon at the top that looks like a chain to maintain the proper ratio of the picture. Move the picture to where you want it.
Once you have the picture in place and are happy with it, click the "Check Mark" at the top to set the picture in place.
If you have a single slot story board you are done at this point but if you have more picture slots to fill, repeat the process.
Once you have filled all of the picture slots on the storyboard and are happy with the way it looks....click on the Layer tab at the top of the screen and then click on Flatten towards the bottom of the drop down menu. If the storyboard is solid in color (like the example in this tutorial) save as a JPEG.
If the storyboard background is sheer (like the storyboard below) you will need to save the storyboard as a PNG file. This way the background will remain sheer.
I hope this tutorial was helpful.
Below is an example (Before & After) of how to use texture to add a bit of light. I needed to add just a touch of light to my daughters face and a little bit of grunge to the background. I used the texture "Taupe Light" (coming soon).
